DESS® Clean Energy Transition: Celebrating World Environment Education Day

In line with the celebration of the first World Environment Education and Clean Energy Day, we believe it is important to reflect on the positive impact that individual and corporate actions can have on the preservation of our planet. In this context, DESS^® Dental has always stood out for its commitment to sustainability and the transition to cleaner energy.

Commitment to Sustainability since 2017

Since 2017, our company has been implementing various measures to reduce its environmental footprint and promote the efficient use of energy resources. One of the first significant actions was the relocation to new facilities with a focus on energy efficiency. This resulted in the adoption of technologies such as LED lighting and smart lighting systems, which automatically regulate light intensity based on available natural light, thanks to strategically placed sensors.

One step further towards Energy Self-Sufficiency

In a step towards energy self-sufficiency and reducing dependence on non-renewable sources, in 2018, we installed a photovoltaic system at our facilities with a capacity of 75.35 kWp, consisting of 274 solar panels. This initiative has proven to be a success, contributing to the production of a significant percentage of the energy consumed by the company, thus reducing its carbon footprint.

Our Commitment to Sustainable Energy

In our constant search for opportunities to improve our environmental performance, DESS^® Dental went a step further in 2022 by switching to a green energy supplier. This strategic decision has not only been beneficial to the environment by reducing carbon dioxide emissions by a significant amount but has also been economically favourable for the company.

Expansion of Our Photovoltaic Installation

Continuing our commitment to sustainability and innovation, we expanded our photovoltaic system in 2023, adding an additional 24 solar panels, which represent 10.92 kWp. This expansion, in addition to increasing the company's renewable energy generation capacity, has encouraged a growth in self-consumption, consolidating our transition to a more sustainable energy model.

Our journey so far has been exciting and rewarding, and we are committed to continuing to explore new ways to reduce our environmental impact and contribute positively to the well-being of our planet.
