DESS has participated in two major, back-to-back dental events in Saudi Arabia that showcased our commitment to innovation and excellence: the prestigious Saudi International Dental Conference (SIDC) in Riyadh and the DESS Implants Course and Workshop at Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University in Dammam. These events highlighted our dedication to empowering dental professionals with cutting-edge solutions and hands-on learning opportunities.

During the three days of the fair, DESS products, showcased at Amasi’s stand, attracted significant attention from professionals, including doctors, dental technicians, and representatives from leading Periodontics and Prosthodontics societies. Visitors were particularly impressed by our latest innovations and advanced prosthetic solutions. The stand also hosted representatives from several prestigious Saudi Arabian universities, highlighting the growing collaboration within the dental community.

Additionally, the event provided a fantastic opportunity to reconnect with our three Key Opinion Leaders in Saudi Arabia and welcome back many of the 100+ doctors and dental technicians who had previously visited our facilities with AMASI. The fair was a remarkable platform for fostering relationships and sharing advancements in dental solutions.

DESS Implants Course and Workshop

Following the success at SIDC, DESS was proud to be part of the Implant Course and Workshop organized by AMASI on January 20, 2025, at Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University in Dammam.
This event brought together 60 postgraduate residents and Faculty Staff - Dr Jehan ALHumaid, Dean College of Dentistry, and Dr. Faisal Al-Qarni Vice Dean for Scientific Research and Innovation among them - for an intensive day of lectures, practical demonstrations, and interactive workshops focused on advanced implantology techniques and digital dentistry solutions.

 

 

Comprehensive Agenda

The course aimed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to excel in their practices while introducing them to DESS® Implants and innovative products. The program featured a mix of expert-led lectures and hands-on training sessions, ensuring attendees left with actionable insights.

The event began with a warm welcome and introduction by Mahmoud Zohair from AMASI. DESS Technical Specialists, David Cuervo and Oriol Tura, delivered engaging presentations that engaged and inspired the audience. Their sessions included:

  • DESS Implant Systems Presentation: David Cuervo introduced attendees to the design and functionality of DESS Implants, ACTIVE HEX and CONICAL BLT. He highlighted how these implants are fully compatible with leading implant systems NobelActive® and Straumann® Bone Level, offering clinicians versatility and reliability.
  • Prosthetic Solutions and Workflows: Oriol Tura delved into DESS’s Innovative Prosthetic Products and Solutions, emphasizing their compatibility with digital workflows and their ability to deliver predictable, high-quality results for patients.

The event also featured distinguished experts and DESS KOLs who enriched the learning experience:

  • Dr. Mohamed Khalifa, a respected periodontist, delivered an insightful lecture on mastering implant selection to achieve optimal osseointegration.
  • Dt Kamal Jawabrah, an expert in digital dentistry, gave a lecture focused on DESS Abutment Selection Using Exocad, demonstrating how this powerful software simplifies the design and planning of prosthetic solutions.

 

 

Interactive Workshop: Connecting Knowledge and Application

The practical portion of the course provided attendees with a unique hands-on learning experience. This segment allowed doctors the invaluable chance to directly engage with DESS® Implants and try them for themselves in a controlled environment.
Under the guidance of Dr. Mohamed Khalifa and David Cuervo, participants explored surgical techniques and gained deeper insights into our Implant systems: ACTIVE HEX and CONICAL BLT and their respective Surgical Kits.

Participants also explored the integration of digital tools into implantology. Key sessions included:

  • Digital Impressions and Workflow Optimization:
    • Dr. Mohamed Marragi demonstrated the use of the DESS® Scan Body and OVO IOS, showcasing how these tools simplify digital impressions and enhance clinical outcomes.
  • 3D Printing for Dental Applications:
    • Dr. Ahmed Adel introduced participants to 3D printing workflows using the ZYLO printer, highlighting the efficiency of DESS® Digital Analogues and printed models for precise treatment planning.
